OUR STORY
Made slowly, in London.
“I wanted to make jewellery you'd still reach for in forty years.”
“I wanted to make jewellery you'd still reach for in forty years.”
Ogbegems began at a single bench in Hatton Garden — London's jewellery quarter since the Middle Ages. We still work that way: every piece is cut, set and polished by hand, a few metres from where you can come and try it on.
We use recycled 9ct and 18ct gold and sterling silver, heavy gold vermeil that lasts, and freshwater pearls we sort by eye under daylight lamps. Baroque pearls — the irregular ones — are our favourite: no two are alike, so neither are our pieces.
Everything is hallmarked at the London Assay Office. Much of the collection is made to order, which means less waste and a piece that's made for you, not taken from a shelf.
